Ayesha Patel Named Winner at 18th Annual James J. Whalen Symposium at Ithaca College

Ayesha Patel, a senior neuroscience major in the School of Humanities and Sciences at Ithaca College, was named a winner in the poster presentation category of the 18th annual James J. Whalen Academic Symposium. The annual symposium held at Ithaca College highlights original research and creative works done by Ithaca College students in collaboration with faculty sponsors.

Patel won for her presentation "The Role of Stress and Alcohol on Social and Appetitive Behavior in Long Evans Males".

The James J. Whalen Academic Symposium provides students with the opportunity to give oral and poster presentations on their senior and honors thesis projects and independent research, and to show their original creative work in the arts, including writing, music, theater and film.

Presentations are scored by a panel of judges on purpose/rationale, techniques and methods, conclusions, relevance, originality and visual appearance.
