2015 Mar 4

Dana Sharabi, a speech-language pathology and audiology graduate student in the School of Health Sciences and Human Performance at Ithaca College, presented her work entitled "Comparing Instructional Approaches for Attaining Oral Proficiency in Adult English Language Learners" at the 18th annual conference of the American Association of Behavioral and Social Sciences (AABSS).

The paper examined articulation, rate of speech and intonation features of instructional materials that incorporated functional and work-related vocabulary compared to academic and curriculum-based vocabulary.

The AABSS Conference is an annual event that brings together scholars from around the globe in order to present scholarship related to a wide variety of behavior and social science contexts, including theory, practice, empirical research, and conceptual advancement.
