Ithaca College Model U.N. Team Member Paul Thomasset Receives Honorable Mention at Security Council Stimulation Conference

2015 Nov 9

Paul Thomasset, a senior economics major in the School of Humanities and Sciences at Ithaca College, earned honorable mention in the Security Council Stimulation conference at Yale University.

Thomasset earned honorable mention for his role trying to resolve the current issues in the Middle East through a joint crisis committee.

The Security Council Stimulation Model U.N. conference, also known as a "crisis committee conference," assigns each team delegate in attendance an individual role.

Model U.N. is a stimulation that teaches students interested in comparative politics how to argue and propose solutions to real-life issues through role playing and debating. Members of the team gain a better understanding of how the United National works; experience researching and getting into the mindset of other countries; interaction with people from other regions, colleges and countries around the world; and establish public speaking and negotiating skills.
