Ithaca College Student-Athlete Trevor Thompson Honored

Trevor Thompson, a sophomore member of the baseball team at Ithaca College, earned American Baseball Coaches Association First Team for the 2015 season.

Thompson started and played in all 34 games this season and led the Bombers in 10 offensive categories. Thompson hit .385 on the year with 25 runs scored, 21 RBI, 11 doubles and three home runs. In the field, he owned a .951 fielding percentage in 142 chances and only committed two errors over the final 29 games.

The ABCA, founded in 1945, is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. Its over 6,600 members represent all 50 states and 23 countries. Since its initial meeting of 27 college baseball coaches in June 1945, Association membership has broadened to include eight divisions: NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA, Junior College, Pacific Association Division, High School and Youth.
