Katherine Baldwin Represents New York Film and Television Student Alliance

2015 May 1

Katherine Baldwin, a freshman television-radio major in the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College, represented the New York Film and Television Student Alliance (NYFTSA) during a three day visit to New York City.

Following an itinerary set with assistance from the Governor's Office for Motion Picture and Television Development, Baldwin began her visit with a tour of historic Kaufman Astoria Studios where they met with production team members from the Netflix hit series "Orange is the New Black." The three-day trip also included: a roundtable discussion with union and guild leaders at the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local 52 soundstage and training facility in Queens; a meeting with industry experts from the New York Production Alliance at the headquarters of McCann Erickson; a discussion about careers in post-production and visual effects and animation with principals at the Post Factory; and attendance at the Tribeca Film Festival.

With the creation of its first chapter at Ithaca College, NYFTSA aims to bring together students from colleges and universities all over New York State that offer production majors or minors in film or television production and post-production.
