Katherine Evans Named Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Week

Katherine Evans was named Empire 8 Conference Rookie of the Week.

Over the three matches, Evans hit .400. She started the Empire 8 tri-match with nine kills on 16 attempts with just one error (.500) in a sweep of Utica, and then put down 14 kills with three errors on 25 swings (.440) in the four-set win against Houghton on Sept. 26. Evans began the week with five kills against Keuka on Sept. 23.

Evans is now hitting .417 on the season in 16 matches with 140 kills. She has eclipsed a hitting percentage over .400 on 10 different occasions so far this season, and has not committed more than three errors in a single match.
