Katherine Pitman Named Empire 8 Athlete of the Week

Ithaca College student and pole vaulter Katherine Pitman was named the Empire 8 Athlete of the Week.

Pitman tied her own school record of 4.15 meters (13 feet, 7.25 meters) in the pole vault to best the field by two-feet, six-inches at the Ramapo Season Opener held at the NYC Armory on Jan. 13.

Pitman currently ranks first in the nation in the pole vault by more than a foot, and is sixth overall across all three NCAA divisions.
