Katie Helly Named All-American at NCAA Championships

Ithaca College sophomore diver Katie Helly earned Honorable Mention All-American Status at the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships held March 16-19 at the Greensboro Aquatics Center in Greensboro, N.C.

Helly came away with twelfth on the 1-meter and fifteenth on the 3-meter springboard, and earned her first career Honorable Mention All-American. She said being a part of the Swimming & Diving Team is about hard work and continuing to improve every year.

"Honestly, when you say twelfth it just sounds like another place, nothing big," said Helly. "Someone then said to me, 'Katie, you're twelfth in the nation,' and then it all kind of clicked."

Ithaca finished the four-day championship in 20th place with a total of 37 team points.
