Natalie Reed Named Student Programmer of the Year at Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities North East Regional Conference

2015 Oct 22

Natalie Reed, a 2016 communication, management and design major in the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College, earned the Top Programmer of the Year award at the 2015 Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities (APCA) North Each Regional Conference.

Held in Teaneck, N.J., the conference is an opportunity for learning. There are educational sessions addressing such topics as motivation, stress management, communication skills, decision making, ethical leadership and group processing techniques.

At the conference, Reed served as the intern to the Director of Education and Associate Services at the event, helping to coordinate the APCA serves program, registering associates, monitoring exhibit halls and assisting the APCA staff in co-operative buying. During the conference she connected with a variety of agents and artists to make sure their needs were met. [LAST NAME] also worked with schools to get the best deals on artists through a block booking process.

Reed earned Student Programmer of the Year for her commitment to the Ithaca College Student Activities Board. She has served as film chair, executive chair and co-finance chair. During her time as executive chair she required all chairs to plan four events a semester instead of three and initiated the idea of a street team. She worked with event chairs to plan successful events that cost less so the activities board could plan more events and meet mission goals.
