Rachael Lewis-Krisky Recognized by Television Academy

2015 May 8

The Television Academy recognized Rachael Lewis-Krisky, a alumnae documentary studies and production major in the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College, for her work on the film "Fighter by Nature."

"Fighter by Nature" took second in the documentary category at the College Television Awards.

Lewis-Krisky worked on the film as executive producer.

“Fighter by Nature” portrays the life of Marvin McDowell, a Hall of Fame boxing coach, as he tries to balance being a coach to at-risk youth in Baltimore while being a present father to his own family. The story follows McDowell as he trains Antwain Robinson, an 18-year-old boxer, for the Police Athletic League National Boxing Championship in Toledo, Ohio.

The documentary was produced to fulfill the capstone requirement of the Documentary Studies and Production program.

College Television Awards entries are judged on excellence in overall production by members of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Foundation. Winners are honored at a gala held in Los Angeles, awarded cash prizes and given industry recognition and the opportunity to network with top television executives.
