Robert Haskell Leads Ithaca College AMA Chapter at International Collegiate Competition

2015 Mar 4

Robert Haskell, a senior communication, management and design major in the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College, served as project leader of the marketing research committee of the IC American Marketing Association (AMA) and earned semi-finalist status at the 2014-15 AMA International Collegiate Case Competition.

Haskell guided the IC AMA team conducted marketing research and analysis to construct a marketing mix including new product recommendations, packaging, rebranding and integrated marketing communications strategy.

The Ithaca College chapter of the American Marketing Association (IC AMA) was named a semi-finalist in the 2014-15 American Marketing Association (AMA) Collegiate Case Competition for its Vitamin Water marketing plan. This marks the IC AMA's highest finish in the AMA Collegiate Case Competition.

Sponsored by Vitamin Water, the 2014-15 Collegiate Case Competition required teams to present a marketing campaign for the sponsoring company to create brand relevance, preference and loyalty among young consumers without alienating current loyalists. Teams were asked to address consumer segmentation, product positioning, marketing promotion, distribution issues and possible product, packaging and pricing changes.

The annual International Collegiate Case Competition is open to undergraduate teams at schools that have an affiliated AMA Chapter. The competition is a year-long event that brings together students to work on a marketing challenge submitted by a sponsoring organization.
