Taulant Gashi Gives Back During Alternative Spring Break

Ithaca College student Taulant Gashi will spend March 12-16 volunteering as part of the college's Alternative Spring Break program. Gashi will spend the week providing tax services to residents of remote villages in western Alaska as part of the Alaska Business Development Center’s Volunteer Tax & Loan Program.

The annual Alternative Spring Break program sends small teams of students to work with organizations that espouse a number of missions, while each year several School of Business students travel with faculty member Mary Bouchard to Alaska to assist in tax preparation.

This year's slate of Alternative Spring Break options offered students opportunities to help protect vulnerable parts of the environment or tackle issues of unequal access to healthy food options in urban environments, among other options.
