Tiffany Lu Receives Phi Kappa Phi Love of Learning Grant

2014 Sep 25

The honor society of Phi Kappa Phi awarded Tiffany Lu, a performance in conducting graduate student in the School of Music at Ithaca College, the Love of Learning grant. Lu utilized the grant to attend a conducting master class held in Vicenza, Italy, in April 2014.

Directed by Lior Shambadal, principal conductor of the Berlin Sinfonietta, and Romolo Gessi, principal guest conductor of the Philharmonia Veneta, the master class was offered under the auspices of the European Conducting Academy.

The $500 Love of Learning grant is given to 160 Phi Kappa Phi members each year to help fund post-baccalaureate studies or career development for active members.

Founded in 1897 at the University of Maine, Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest, largest, and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Its chapters are on more than 300 campuses in the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Philippines. Each year, approximately 30,000 members are initiated.
