Unionville Native Amanda Failla Named Empire 8 Athlete of the Week honors

Amanda Failla of Unionville was named Empire 8 Athlete of the Week honors announced after a strong weekend performance at the Martin-Wallace Invitational hosted by Cortland.

Failla placed in a tie for sixth overall among a field of 58 individuals in a tournament that included perennial national power Methodist. The Bombers finished second in the team standings to Methodist.

Failla opened the weekend with a first-round score of 80 on Elm Tree Golf Course. Sunday's second round was held at Cortland Country Club and Failla posted a score of 78. It was the second-lowest 18-hole score in Failla's collegiate career and was also her best effort at the Cortland layout where Ithaca competes annually.
