Yana Mazurkevich Honored for Ithacan Photograph

Yana Mazurkevich, a freshman biology major in the School of Humanities and Sciences at Ithaca College, received a Better Newspaper Competition Award from the New York Press Association.

Mazurkevich was honored with the third place photography award for her photograph.

The NYPA was founded in 1853 to help publishers of small newspapers meet the needs of their communities more effectively by providing better information for their readers. The annual Better Newspaper Competition measures papers of similar size against one another in categories such as news, photography and advertising.
