Gabriela Urbaez-Mendez Accepted as Participant in Ithaca College Cross Cultural Leadership Retreat
Gabriela Urbaez-Mendez will be participating in the 16th annual Cross Cultural Leadership Retreat (CCLR) for Ithaca College students. This two and a half day retreat will provide her with the opportunity to explore various aspects of diversity and their relationship to leadership. During the retreat, she and the rest of the group will participate in a series of educational sessions and discuss issues as a large group, as well as in smaller, informal conversations.

Six Ithaca College Students Attend National Conference for Women Student Leaders
Six Ithaca College student leaders were selected from a competitive pool to attend the 2017 National Conference for College Women Student Leaders (NCCWSL), held May 31-June 3 in College Park, MD. The NCCWSL focuses on women's leadership issues and features a broad range of speakers, including internationally known activists, politicians, journalists, entrepreneurs, and scientists.

Ithaca College Students Attend African American Student Leadership Experience
Five Ithaca College students were selected to attend the African American Student Leadership Experience in Washington, D.C. As a result of this experience, they have developed an original learning and reflection opportunity for the IC community that will take place Tuesday, Feb. 28.

Ciara Lucas named to List of '22 Under 22 Most Inspiring College Women'
Ithaca College journalism major Ciara Lucas '16 has been recognized by Her Campus as one of its "22 Under 22 Most Inspiring College Women." Lucas earned a spot on the list for her on-campus leadership and journalistic pursuits. During her time at Ithaca College, she has served as a student member of the Board of Trustees, been elected senior class president and worked as an NBC News reporter.

Ithaca College Students Attend 21st Annual Black Solidarity Conference at Yale University
Ithaca College students Brandon Paul, Arlana Shikongo, Anissa Ash and Efosa Erhunmwunse attended the 21st Annual Black Solidarity Conference at Yale University from February 11-14, 2016. The four then gave a presentation at Ithaca College on March 31 exploring the ways societal rhetoric and historical narratives have impacted black identity in the United States.
